Traveling to Georgia’s Golden Isles shouldn’t be limited to summer months only. Beachfront hotels and condominiums that flourish during the busy tourist season are sometimes hard-pressed to fill their rooms during the fall and winter months, and will often run several promotions to entice travelers to book rooms during these periods. This time of year in particular is a great time to take advantage of special deals at a resort that has plenty to offer, The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort.
If you’ve ever been to Saint Simons Island then you’re probably familiar with the King and Prince, located off of Arnold Road on the southeast side, just one mile from the Saint Simons Lighthouse and Neptune Park. It’s no secret that the resort’s rates can be pretty steep during peak times, and if you’re trying to book in the summer then be prepared to pay top dollar. That’s why this time of year is the perfect time to take advantage of some of the King and Prince’s specials.
The end of the busy season in 2013 brought several renovations to the resort, including a totally renovated main lobby area. One of the biggest changes to the hotel for anyone familiar with the main building was the removal of the indoor pool, freeing up more space inside and making way for a new lounge area as well as the resort’s newest restaurant, ECHO. The hotel’s website is currently offering an “Echo Special” on rooms, food, and drinks February 23rd through the 27th. If you’ve already been a guest at the King and Prince before, it’s certainly worth going back just to check out all the exciting new changes for 2014.
Some of the specials running through the end of March include discounted rooms for Elvis fans during a special “Evening with the King at the King and Prince” on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014. There is also the aforementioned “Experience Echo Special” February 23rd through the 27th, as well as a March Golf Special that runs Sundays through Wednesdays March 2nd – 26th.
The most recommended (and cost-saving) special available for March 2014 is the “March Weekend Getaway.” Booking on Friday or Saturday, March 7th and 8th 2014 can land you an oceanfront or partial ocean view room for $159 nightly plus taxes, but keep in mind the rooms are very limited, so if you want to take advantage of this particular special you should reserve your room now. These rooms can run north of $300 a night during the busy season, so it’s a deal to consider if you’ve ever wanted to visit.
The first of the year is usually a time of bundling up and staying close to a fire somewhere, and it’s easy to forget about taking a trip to the beach. It’s also easy to believe that because it’s cold where you are, it must be cold at the beach as well. Although I wouldn’t recommend taking a swim in the Atlantic in March, average highs during the first of the month are in the high 60’s and toward the end of March in the low 70’s, and there’s plenty to do on Saint Simons Island besides taking a dip in the ocean. Why not take some time before the summer crowds start rolling in to check it out? It’s a great time of year to experience the King and Prince Resort at a reasonable rate.
