If you’ve ever been curious about our impact on the coastal environment, then CoastFest is an event that you won’t want to miss.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources – Coastal Resources Division is holding the 20th annual CoastFest coastal environment exhibition in Brunswick on Saturday, October 4th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event – which is held at the DNR’s Coastal Resources Division located just off highway 17 at the north end of the Sydney Lanier Bridge – features a plethora of coastal wildlife exhibits, including live butterflies, living history demonstrations, and access to the DNR docks where boats from the United States Coast Guard and the DNR will be showcased.
There will also be tons of activities for kids, including a fishing hole, Reef Ball painting, and even on-site kayak ponds for kids to try out.
It’s gonna be a fun day in Brunswick, so if you’re in the vicinity then stop by and be a part of this year’s CoastFest. Admission is free, and is being subsidized by t-shirt sales. Adult sizes are $8 and $5 for kids, or you can pick up a hat to help out the cause for a cool $10. There will also be plenty to eat, as several vendors will be on-site to light up the grills and provide food and drinks for everyone in attendance.
